About four artisanal miners have allegedly been trapped at Ranmine, Gwirigwindi area, in Bindura after the mine collapsed on Thursday.
In a statement, the police said investigations are ongoing.
“The ZRP is investigating a suspected trapping incident which occurred at Ranmine, Gwirigwindi area, Bindura on 22/06/23 at around 1600 hours.
"Police are at the scene where it is being suspected that about four artisanal miners were trapped when a mine shaft collapsed.
“More details will be released in due course,” reads the statement.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating a sad incident in which a one-year and four months old male infant died on Wednesday after jumping into a plastic dish filled with boiling water.
The infant died while admitted at a local hospital.
The dish had been left unattended outside the house by his mother in Waterfalls on Sunday.
