Woman helps man rape her 15-year-old neighbour

An Epworth woman who abetted the rape of her 15-year-old neighbour has appeared in court together with the alleged rapist.

Shingirai Chitata, 25, of Stopover, Epworth and Admire Chiwaya, 30, of Magada, Epworth, were before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with rape.

The complainant in this matter is a 15-year-old juvenile and Chitata is her neighbour.

The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva, alleges that on June 20, at around 1900 hours, Chitata and Chiwaya were in a parked Honda Fit when they called the complainant to come to the car.

She came and sat at on the front passenger seat.

Chitata and her husband, who is still at large, came out of the car and locked the doors of the car from the outside, leaving the complainant with Chiwaya.

Chiwaya grabbed the complainant’s hands and pressed them firmly against the car’s seat.

He forcibly removed the complainant’s pant and had sex with her without her consent.

Chitata and her husband came back to the car the following morning at around 0500 hours and unlocked the doors.

Chitata and Chiwaya were ordered to appear in court on July 19.
