A Budiriro man, who took advantage of a girl’s desperation and raped her has appeared in court.
Previledge Rupondo, 23, of Budiriro 3, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with rape.
The complainant in this matter is a 15-year-old juvenile.
The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva, alleges that on July 5, 2023, the complainant sneaked out of the house in the evening to see her lover but failed to locate him.
She went back home, and found that the door had been locked.
Becxause of fear, she went into the street where she met a man, one Sizla, who asked her why she was in the streets at such a time.
She told him her story before proceeding to Rupondo’s house where she was left in the hands of Rupondo’s niece, Sky Madzimure, who spent the night with her.
She spent the day at Rupondo’s house.
The girl could not face her parents when she went back home and as a result, she went back to Rupondo’s house and found Madzimure alone.
After a while, a certain guy came, followed by Rupondo later Madzimure and the other man soon left, leaving Rupondo and the girl.
Rupondo removed his shirt and started fondling her breasts while exhorting to have sex with her.
She refused but Rupondo insisted, removed his trousers, and forcibly removed her dress and pant.
He forced her to lie down on her back, got himself between her legs and had sex with her without her consent and protection.
