John Kamuserere, 28, residing at Chikurubi Support Unit Camp appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje at the Harare Magistrates’Courts charged with rape of his 17 year-old girlfriend.
The State alleges that sometime in May 2023 at around 2100 hours the complainant met Kamuserere as she was coming from her aunt's house.
The two agreed to get into a barracks where they started kissing, fondling and caressing.
The complainant then told Kamuserere to stop but he continued until the complainant allegedly felt weak.
Kamuserere then took off her tights and underwear and had unprotected sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
After that, she started to cry and Kamuserere instructed her to be quiet and never to tell anyone about their sexual act as he was going to kill her if she ever did.
She then went to her parents' house and never told anyone about it.
The State also alleges that on a separate occasion in June 2023 at around 2100 hours, the complainant was fetching water at B Mess water tape when Kamuserere told her that he had bought a parcel for her from town and they agreed to get into the barrack to collect the pizza.
In the barrack the two started kissing, fondling and caressing.
The complainant then told Kamuserere to stop but he continued, leading to the two having sexual intercourse against the will of the complainant.
After the act, she told Kamuserere that she was not pleased with what he had done.
After some days she began to feel sick. Her mother suspected pregnancy and sent the complainant to her aunt's house so that the aunt would also assess her.
The aunt bought a pregnancy test kit and told her to self-test. The results were positive.
That is when she divulged the whole story to her aunt's husband who later told her parents.
A report was made at ZRP Highlands and she was referred to the hospital for medical examination and treatment.
