Unlicensed driver fatally hits pedestrian

A Kadoma man has landed himself in soup after driving a car without a drivers' licence after he hit a car before hitting a pedestrian who was walking on the driveway, has made an initial appearance in court.

Hazedale Munengami, 21, appeared before magistrate Munashe Chibanda charged with driving without a driver's licence.

The State, through prosecutor Grace Mugocheke, alleges that on July 16, 2023 at around 1400 hours, Munengami was driving a Nissan AD Van along Samora Machel road due east.

When he was opposite Long Chen Plaza complex he hit another car and he lost control of the car and went on to hit a pedestrian, one Bvure Kefias, who was walking in the driveway.

After that, he controlled the car back onto the road and hit another car.
