Is the world collapsing around Willard Katsande?

Former warriors and Kaizer Chiefs captain Willard Katsande, 37, is about to lose his second home, ZimNow has learnt.

Salt and Vinegar, as he is affectionately known in South Africa, lost his R2 million mansion in Johannesburg, which was reportedly put up for auction earlier this year after he neglected to make payments for more than eight months.

In the most recent case, the retired footballer was found guilty by the High Court of South Africa’s Gauteng Division in Pretoria.

The Sheriff in Krugersdorp, West Rand, put the house in The Dunes Estates, at Homes Haven Extension up for auction.

The asking price at auction is R1 667 418.15

The house was not sold at the auction on Tuesday.

A woman who introduced herself only as Mrs. Erasmus from Krugersdorp said that there was no bid on the house. “We are waiting for a new auction date,” she said.

Katsande first joined Ajax Cape Town when he left Zimbabwe for South Africa. 

In 2011, his services were acquired by Kaizer Chiefs where he was said to be earning a R200 000 monthly salary.

Just before leaving Amakhosi in July 2021, Katsande was modelling a range of clothes.

After retiring from professional football, the hard-tackling midfielder joined Limpopo outfit, Sekhukhune United as a brand ambassador.

Katsande has ventured into music as a promoter.

Katsande has also gone into fashion with his wife, Bonga with their clothing line called Boss Ya Mboka brand which set out with the release of unisex t-shirts .
