Murwira elected new ZIQS President

Albert Murwira, MRICS, is the new president of Zimbabwe Institute of Quantity Surveyors after being duly elected at the institute’s 57th AGM held this Friday in Harare.

“I am so excited and grateful for the trust bestowed in me to be at the helm of such an esteemed professional institution,” Murwira told Zim Now.

“As an individual this is recognition of all I have been doing as a Quantity Surveyor, and also outside of quantity surveying, and most importantly my potential,” he said.

Murwira said he will use his tenure to realise his vision of raising the profile of quantity surveyors

“During my presidency I intend to ensure visibility of quantity surveying professions, relevance, continued existence and value addition,” he said.

He also hopes to continue the tradition of the institution in maintaining and promoting the profession’s integrity.

Murwira says the institution must move with the times, inspire young people deciding on careers, and be a full resource centre that adds value to clients and all stakeholders.

Mr Murwira’s is currently a senior partner at TN Zunzanyika Associates.
