Police bust two drug dealers at home

Unexpected visits from the police at home have landed a Glen Norah man and woman in trouble after they were caught with drugs.

Tinashe Ngwangwa, 28, of Glen Norah A, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi charged with unlawful possession of drugs.

The State, through prosecutor Zororai Nkomo, alleges that on August 10, 2023 at around 2000 hours, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics Harare were informed that Ngwangwa was dealing in dangerous drugs at house Number 3307 Glen Norah A, Harare.

The detectives quickly went Ngwangwa's residence and they found him seated on the sofa in the dining room.

They introduced themselves, explained their purpose of the visit and did a body search on Ngwangwa and seized socks containing 3 sachets of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine from Ngwangwa's left jeans pocket.

He was arrested and taken to the police station.

Tests were done and the suspected drug tested positive to Methamphetamine. The Meth weighed approximately 2.2grammes with a street value of ZWL$20 000.

He was remanded in custody.

Meanwhile, Judith Mutsvangwa, 31, Glen Norah A in Harare was also in the same court facing similar charges.

The State, through prosecutor Zororai Nkomo, alleges that on August 10, 2023 at around 2000 hours, the police received information that Mutsvangwa was dealing in dangerous drugs at house Number 3307 Glen Norah A, Harare.

Detectives found Mutsvangwa at home, introduced themselves before doing a body search on Mutsvangwa and seized a cream sock containing three sachets of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine from the pocket of the jean trousers she was wearing.

She was escorted to CID Drugs and Narcotics Harare and tests done in her presence confirmed that the substance was Crystal Meths weighing 2.2 grammes with a street value of ZWL$132 000.

She was remanded in custody.
