Man rapes mother-in-law

A man who took advantage of the dark night and raped his mother-in-law has been granted US$50 bail.

He will appear on October 13 for his trial date.

Harry Lyton Chidhakwa, 33, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing rape allegations.

The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva, alleges that on August 25, 2023, at around 2300 hours, the complainant was at her house fast asleep naked with her one-year and seven months’ old daughter.

Chidhakwa knocked at the door and the complainant asked who it was.

Chidhakwa said: “Ndini mukwasha wenyu Baba Beyonce. (It’s your son-in-law, Beyonce’s father).”

The complainant asked why he was coming that time of the night and what he wanted and he whispered that he wanted to talk to her.

She refused to open but Chidhakwa pushed the door and it opened since it was not locked.

He entered the room holding his phone in his hand which was using as light and jumped on the bed where the complainant was sleeping naked and grabbed her by her neck using one hand.

The other hand he used to pull his manhood and tore her pants to rape her.

After the act, Chidhakwa left the room.

She went to her uncle where she narrated her ordeal and then told her husband, leading Chidhakwa’s arrest.
