The National Sports Stadium re-opens its doors to domestic football this Sunday when it hosts the much-anticipated Harare Derby pitting old foes Dynamos and CAPS United.

After two months without football in the capital city, the giant National Sports Stadium re-opens with the mother of all battles on Sunday, one of the most-anticipated matches in the country as the Harare giants have featured in memorable matches which have left fans calling for more.

The two teams met earlier in the season with DeMbare walking away two-nil victors at the National Sports Stadium in April.

The National Sports Stadium stopped hosting Premier Soccer League matches in June after it fell into bad shape due to congestion and over use.

The country’s biggest stadium had hosted over 40 matches in just three months, with clubs also conducting their training sessions in the main arena.

The custodians of the facility, the Sports and Recreation Commission have indicated that they will only allow two matches to be played at the National Sports Stadium per week with training sessions strictly being held at the B Arena.

Match Day 24 action, however, starts on Saturday as defending champions FC Platinum host bogey side Herentals at Mandava Stadium.

The match is expected to be a thriller as the two teams have a frosty relationship and they are now sharing Mandava as their home ground.

Elsewhere, Greenfuel will be looking for a second consecutive victory at their home ground when they take on Simba Bhora at Greenfuel Stadium in Chisumbanje.

Log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars travel to Nyamhunga Stadium to face ZPC Kariba, while Chicken Inn battle struggling Triangle at Luveve Stadium.

Yadah date Bulawayo Chiefs at Baobab Stadium as Sheasham face Cranborne Bullets at Bata Stadium.

Sunday sees Hwange hosting Highlanders at the Colliery, while Black Rhinos will hope to outshine Manica Diamonds at Bata Stadium.
