Zim to host high-profile global meet up for sustainable tourism investments

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority will host the second edition of the Zimbabwe Tourism Investment Forum on October 13, 2023 during the second day of the Sanganai/Hlanganani - World Tourism Expo at Holiday Inn, Bulawayo. 

This year’s theme, “Tourism Investment Re-imagining Sustainable Partnerships,’ is inspired by the growth and success of the tourism sector in the first half of the year.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority stated that the event is being held on the backdrop of a successful first half of the year in terms of investment into the tourism sector. 

“We saw a glorious growth of over 90% compared to the same period last year. It is our hope that with this kind of platform, we will be able to pave the way for more high-level projects that will further increase the total quantum of investment into the sector.

“This, in turn, will play a critical role in attaining our ambitious goal of a five billion dollar tourism economy by 2025,” ZTA said.

The ZTIF provides an invaluable platform for project promoters, investors, financiers, operators, local authorities, consultants, suppliers, policy makers, and developers to connect, network, and foster sustainable partnerships for tourism development in Zimbabwe.

Building upon the previous edition’s success, this year's forum will witness the launch of the Tourism Investment Platform, a collaborative effort between the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency and ZTA. 

“This platform aims to streamline business processes and facilitate ease of doing business in the tourism sector.

“Revolving around the theme of sustainable partnerships, the forum will feature engaging discussions led by esteemed local and international professionals. 

“Key sessions to anticipate include investing in Tourism and Alternative Tourism Opportunities in Zimbabwe, Tourism Facilitation and Development, Investor Testimonials and Perspectives, as well as Tourism Infrastructure and Financial Engineering.

“For project promoters seeking funding or partnerships, we encourage you to register your projects on the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority's database. There is an array of enthusiastic investors actively seeking projects to fund or partner with,” the ZTA added.

To secure participation, delegates are required to pay an investment fee of USD 300 per person, or equivalent to the prevailing bank rate. Additionally, the
