Man breaks into Voltech Private Limited premises, steals US$15k property

A man, who allegedly more than US$15 000 worth of property  from Voltech Private Limited, has been arraigned before the court.

Courage Musariri, 19, of Mbare, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Courts accused of unlawful entry.

The complainant in this case is Innocent Chitsuro, director of Voltech Private Limited.

The State, through prosecutor Zebediah Bofu, alleges that on September 2, 2023 at around 1800 hours, Musariri with his accomplice, Isheunesu Murambi, who is already in remand prison, and another who is still at large, went to Chitsuro's shop and used an iron bar to break the lock securing the door of Chitsuro's shop and got in.

While inside, they allegedly stole 15 lithium batteries, invertors, solar lights and borehole pumps.

They shoved the stolen property inside their gate-away car and drove away.

On September 3, 2023 at around 0800 hours, Chitsuro discovered the offence and filed a report ZRP Kopje.

During the investigations, Musariri allegedly led the police to the crime scene through indication.

The value of products stolen is US$15 980 and property worth US$1 700 was recovered.

Musariri was ordered to appear in court on Monday for bail application.
