Junior Makunike is on a mission to send crosstown rivals CAPS United packing in the Chibuku Super Cup semifinal on Sunday.
Makunike, who has been Dynamos' main driving force in midfield this season, has vowed to lead his team to a third victory over Caps United in three meetings.
“We are not going to allow CAPS United to even think about winning this game,” said Makunike.
“We are going to be ruthless and we are going to send them home.”
Makunike’s confidence is certainly justified. He has been one of the best players in the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League this season, and he has already shown that he is capable of delivering big performances in big games.
In Dynamos’ two previous wins over CAPS United this season, Makunike was instrumental in both victories. He scored the winning goal in the first match and he was named Man of the Match in the second.
Staunch Dynamos supporter, Tinashe Chakadza believes that for CAPS United to win this, they should be in their best form.
“CAPS United will need to be at their very best if they want to stop Makunike and Dynamos on Sunday. But if history is anything to go by, they are in for a long afternoon,” Chakadza said.
