President Emmerson Mnangagwa Friday unveiled the plaque for the Simon Mazorodze School of Medical and Health Sciences building at the Great Zimbabwe University Campus.
The medical school is the fourth state-owned university to offer training in medicine and health sciences after the University of Zimbabwe (UZ), National University of Technology (NUST) and Midlands State University (MSU).
It is expected to assist the community and the nation’s current and future health needs.
The school is also expected to encourage specialists set up practice in Masvingo thus removing the high costs of travelling for specialist care in faraway places cities and towns.
