Man up for hacking Premier Tobacco bank account, stealing US$30 000

Premier Tobacco Auction Floors lost US$30 000 to a hacker.

This came out when Nyasha Mutasa, 33, appeared at the Harare Magistrate Court facing charges of contravening the Cyber and Data Protection Act.

The state alleges that on April 3, Mutasa opened three Nostro accounts in the names of Tarisai Katapi, Tadiwanashe Gandiwa and Pamela Sithole.
On April 4, Mutasa then hacked Premier Tobacco’s Steward Bank account and transferred US$20 000 into the accounts.
Magistrate Dennis Mangosi granted Mutasa US$200 bail.
