Christmas Eve saw Takashinga Cricket Club buzzing with life as people from all walks of life swarmed the venue to celebrate Fio Festival. Nigel Chinovhiringa, the festival's mastermind, was overjoyed with the impressive turnout, exceeding expectations.
The atmosphere was electric with vibrant performances from renowned Zimbabwean artists like Selmor Mtukudzi, Trevor Dongo, Shinso Man, Bazooker, Ndunge Yut, and YOZ,King Shaddy among other artists Their energetic sets kept the crowd enthralled throughout the night.
Fans attending were full of praise. Miriam Muchena from Western Triangle exclaimed, "This is one of the best shows I've been to this year! Huge thanks to the organizers!" Lovedom Sambo from Canaan echoed the sentiment, adding, "There were attempts to sabotage the event with torn posters and a cut electricity cable, but the organizers handled it brilliantly."
Despite facing challenges, show organizer Chinovhiringa expressed his gratitude to the audience via social media: "I was taught to always finish what you start, no matter the obstacles. Fio Fest has been a struggle, but it's here to stay. You'll see the bigger picture one day."
He emphasized their vision, "We're not competing with anyone; we're building something for our community to be proud of, and while we're at it, trying to make a profit from limited resources." He said
