Police have named four of the five victims of the accident involving a Blue Horizon bus, haulage truck and Mercedes Benz at the 64km peg along the Harare-Mutare highway.
The fifth victim, police say, is yet to be identified by their next of kin.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi named the deceased as:
“Kunaishe Madyira, 7, a female juvenile of Glendale, Mazowe; Dudzai Teta, 49, a male adult of Hama Street, Dzivaresekwa, Harare; Sandukai Kamuriwo, a male adult of Dzivaresekwa 3, Harare, Rudo Chinyakobvu, 60, a female adult of Chitoro Street, Budiriro 2, Harare.”
Ass Comm Nyathi added that motorists must be cautious on the roads.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is saddened by the loss of lives through road traffic accidents in the country. The police reiterates that motorists should be observant and safety conscious on the roads to safeguard lives,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.
Government has since accorded state-assistant funerals to the victims of the accident.
