Timothy Gamuchirai Samuriwo, 30, of 3rd Floor, Charingira Court corner Leopold Takawira Atreet and Josiah Tongogara Avenue, Harare, appeared before magistrate Munashe Chibanda at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of assault and malicious damage to property.

The State, through prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi, alleges that on January 9, 2024, at around 2330 hours, Samuriwo who had a 9mm P.A.K Blow Pistol P29 went to the complainant, Sisasenkosi Ndhlovu’s room to discuss a burst water pipe at their flat.

While discussing, Samuriwo withdrew the pistol and pointed it at Ndlovu.

In fear, Ndlovu told Samuriwo not to do that and Samuriwo promised her that it would not harm her.

Samuriwo then inserted a charged magazine on it and fired one shot towards Ndlovu’s kitchen window and it broke.

Ndlovu then rushed to her bedroom and hid there while Samuriwo picked up the spent cartridge case and went to his room.

Ndlovu told her friend who came and picked her since she felt that it was no longer safe to sleep at the premise.

A report was filed, leading to Samuriwo’s arrest and subsequent recovery of the pistol together with the spent cartridge cases at the flat.

Samuriwo was ordered to deposit US$150 as bail and will appear in court on February 23 for his routine remand.
