A Harare man, who defrauded US$4 000 from the complainant claiming that he could buy discs for his cars, has appeared in court.
Takudzwa Nyadenga, 28, Kuwadzana 5, appeared Ethel Chichera facing fraud allegations.
The complainant in this matter is Anesu Samhembere, 29.
The State, through prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi, alleges that on December 30, 2023, to January 2, 2024, Nyadenga who was working with Shingirai Sauka, who is still at large, lied to Samhembere that they could buy discs of cars on his behalf.
They were allegedly given US$4 000.
Nyadenga and his accomplices allegedly printed fake car licence discs and gave them to Samhembere.
It is alleged that one Nyadenga's cars was arrested passing tollgate for the fake disk.
Nyadenga later on verified with Zinara and discovered that all of the discs were fake.
This made the complainant to report the matter to the police, leading to Nyadenga’s arrest.
He was ordered to deposit US$150 and will appear in court on February 7.
