Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema lashed out at Bafana Bafana following their 2-0 defeat to Mali in their opening African Cup of Nations match on Tuesday evening.
Second half goals from Hamari Traore and Lassine Sinayoko gave the West Africans the three points and now top the group.
Percy Tau missed a penalty in the 20th minute which ultimately proved costly as Mali got back into the game towards the end of the first-half.
Malema, who distanced himself from supporting the Springboks back in October 2023, vowed to support Bafana through thick and thin.
After the team’s defeat to Mali, Malema lashed out at the team, and demanded South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan to resign.

The EFF leader also called Bafana cats, instead of lions.
“We must demand the removal of the ANC deployed cadre called Danny Jordan. He single handedly disrupted and completely collapsed our football. It’s time to take action and put an end to this nonsense,” he said on X (formerly Twitter).
Many social media users agreed with Malema, saying Jordaan has been at the helm for too long and his stay derailed Bafana’s progress.
