The gloves are off in the social media war between activist Hopewell Chin’ono and Citizens Coalition for Change spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi with the latter threatening legal action.

This comes as Chin’ono alleged on X that Mkwananzi is Central Intelligence Organisation operative working to bring down the CCC.

Now, Mkwananzi is threatening legal action against Chin’ono over the allegations.

In a post on X, Chin’ono said that people like Mkwananzi are compromised while calling him a CIO agent.

“Many Zimbabweans have been asking why Nelson Chamisa left CCC in a huff, it is because he realised it was heavily infiltrated by State-controlled agents,” Chin’ono said.

“There is nothing dangerous in stating facts, Promise is working with CIO. He made promises to them about what he can deliver by December and they told him what they can deliver,” Chin’ono added.

Mkwananzi has refused claims of dining with the enemy.

The CCC spokesperson, who at one time claimed to be interim leader of the opposition outfit, said that his lawyers were preparing to sue Chin’ono and he will be expected to produce evidence of his claims in court.

“Hopewell. My lawyers are preparing summons for you. I have tolerated your madness enough. You will have to produce evidence of your false and stupid allegations to court,” Mkwananzi said.
