The glitz and glamour of the 22nd National Arts and Merit Awards are upon us, promising a night where Zimbabwe’s artistic tapestry will be woven anew. This year, a constellation of emerging stars takes centre stage, with the electrifying Saintfloew illuminating three categories. His nominations for Outstanding Male Musician, Outstanding Song of the Year (for his captivating collaboration One by One with Julian King), and the coveted People’s Choice Award hint at a meteoric rise that has captivated audiences.

But the firmament of NAMA wouldn’t be complete without its established luminaries. Seasoned veterans Enzo Ishall and Jah Prayzah grace the stage with two nominations each, vying for Outstanding Song of the Year. Last year’s People’s Choice champion, the inimitable Mai Kirifodhi (Theophilus Chigumira), returns, her infectious humour and social commentary earning her nods in both the People's Choice and Outstanding Social Media Skit categories. In the realm of visual arts, the multifaceted Doris Kampira shines with two nominations, showcasing her artistic prowess.

The dance floor promises to be alive with electrifying energy, as Deborah Kabongo, Terence Kapesa, and Sean Mambwere dominate the Dance Awards categories. Their graceful movements and innovative choreography are sure to set pulses racing.
