The Zimbabwe Republic Police is looking for a man who made threats against President Emmerson Mnangagwa and other government officials on social media.
The man was seen in a post on X (formerly Twitter) brandishing two pistols and making the threats. He was described as wearing a black suit and a purple shirt. The police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
“The man is wearing a black suit and a purple shirt. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” the police said.
In a separate incident, the police are investigating a robbery at a Harare financial services company. Six robbers attacked a gardener at the property before breaking into the operations manager’s office.
They used explosives to blow up a safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money, two cash boxes, three laptops, and a bag. However, they dropped US$5 000, two laptops, and a grinder as they fled the scene.
The police are also investigating three murders that occurred around the country. In Shurugwi, a man named Tawanda Chinyati stabbed and killed his cousin, Belmore Tiri, after an argument over food.
Tiri died at Shurugwi District Hospital. In Zvishavane, the police are looking for information about the murder of Remember Karera, who was found dead in a bushy area. And in Harare, Tafadzwa Humama was found dead at a house with a deep cut on his head.
