Zimra sets levy and withholding tax payment deadlines

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority says levies and withholding taxes must be paid by the 10th of the month following the date of sale.

In a statement issued this Tuesday, the tax collection authority said that returns for the 5 percent withholding tax on the invoice value charged and collected by manufacturers and wholesalers as provided in Public Notice 11 of 2024 is due for submission on or before the fifth day of the month following the month of sale with remittance done by the tenth day of the month following the month of sale.

The same deadlines apply on mining dues.

“Return for the levy shall be submitted by the fifth day of the month following the month of sale. The payment for the levy is due by the tenth day of the month following the month of sale,” said the revenue authority.

Zimra stated that taxpayers who sell lithium, black granite, quarry stones as well as uncut and cut dimensional stone locally account are required to remit 1 percent levy on the gross value of the sale.
