Man arrested for firing gun in public, wife murder suspect on the run, police probe hit-and-run and robbery in Harare

 Zimbabwean police have reported several concerning incidents that occurred on Thursday, including an arrest, a murder investigation, and two separate investigations in Harare.

Onwell Chigorimbo, 44, was arrested after firing a shot at the ground and then the tyre of another vehicle on Chibero Road. The victim’s car, a Honda Fit, sustained a flat tyre. The incident reportedly occurred after the victim made a U-turn in front of Chigorimbo’s vehicle.

In Kadoma, Andries Chidhakwa, 28, is wanted by police for allegedly stabbing his wife to death with a kitchen knife. The incident occurred at the Big Mozie Complex in Patchway, and the victim died at a local clinic. The motive for the stabbing remains unknown.

Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Seke Road near Chinhamo. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Toyota Corolla Bubble with the registration number AEY 0046. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.

Police are also appealing for information regarding a robbery that took place along Dzivaresekwa Way. Four unidentified suspects travelling in two silver Toyota Hilux vehicles stole US$49 400 from a couple travelling in a Toyota Lexus. The couple reportedly operates a private school in Dzivaresekwa.
