Deaf Trust Zimbabwe has said the new school-based projects need to be clarified and clear modalities laid out and teacher capacity building should be prioritised ahead of implementation.
The organisation noted that there is need to secure the relevant teaching and learning materials to satisfy the expected evaluation standards.
This comes as government recently scrapped the Continuous Assessment Learning Activities and replaced them with the new school-based projects of practical applications under the Heritage-Based Education 2024-2030.
The number of areas previously covered by CALA has been reduced from about eight to one for each subject.
DTZ said the organisation has been advocating for the reform of the CALA system for learners with disability.
