Woman nabbed over Zimsec certificate fraud

A 36-year-old woman, Margeret Nyapimbi was on Tuesday arrested by detectives from CID Braeside in connection with a case of fraud.

Police confirmed the arrest on X.

“The suspect used a fake Zimbabwe School Examinations Council Certificate to secure enrolment at Morgen Zintec Teachers’ College.”

The arrest of Nyapimbi led to the recovery of the forged certificate.

In another case, police confirmed two cases of robbery, which occurred this week in Harare and Mvurwi.

“Police in Highlands are investigating a case of robbery which occurred at a house in Greendale, Harare on 06/03/24 in which five unidentified male suspects who were armed with a bolt cutter, catapults and wooden sticks, attacked 10 victims who were attending a funeral.”

The suspects stole US$800 cash and 300 Euros from one of the victims before they ransacked the house and stole 30 assorted gold and silver rings valued at US$41 800.

Meanwhile, in Mvurwi police are investigating case of robbery which occurred at Tsapato Farm on Tuesday night in which six male suspects who were armed with sticks, attacked three farm workers before stealing 36 goats and 11 sheep.

The suspects loaded the loot in an unregistered white Mitsubishi motor vehicle and drove off.
