Delta Corporation employees recently donated groceries and clothing worth over USD$1 000 to SOS Children’s Home in Bindura as part of their Christmas employee charity initiative.
The donated items will provide much-needed food and clothing for the children residing at the home.
“The donation will help care for our community members who are children who have lost parental care,” said Patricia Murambinda, General Manager, Corporate Affairs at Delta Corporation. “Each year, hundreds of children and teens are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment.”
SOS Children’s Village, which supports children under 18 in Zimbabwe, is part of SOS Villages International, the world’s largest private child welfare organisation. Their model focuses on providing long-term care for orphaned and abandoned children through a family-based approach.
“This donation fulfils our desire to support the communities where we operate,” added Ms. Murambinda.
