The Zimbabwe Defence Forces has said Air Marshal John Jacob Nzvede, has officially taken office following his appointment by President Emmerson Mnangagwa early this month.
Air Marshal Nzvede takes over from Air Marshal Elson Moyo who was as AFZ commander.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Valerio Sibanda said that the promotion presents more responsibility, adding that Nzvede was promoted due to his hard work.
“On behalf of the men and women of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, I take this opportunity to extend our congratulations to the new Air Marshal. This promotion comes due to your hard work, loyalty, patriotism and good working ethics in you,” General Sibanda said.
Air Marshal Nzvede, in accepting the honour and expressing his gratitude for the promotion, said he will serve the ZDF and AFZ through working hard.
