A man from Eastview Phase 2, who was in the habit of breaking and entering people’s homes, stealing their property, has been nabbed.
Tawanda Gutu, 25, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with two counts of unlawful entry.
He was remanded in custody.
The State, through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that on October 1, 2023, at around 2300 hours, Gutu went to number 2341 Damafalls, Phase 4 and broke into the complainant's house.
The State alleges that he stole two blankets, several clothes, shoes, bluetooth speaker, 50-watt solar panel, US$100, the complainant's identity card and went away.
The value of the property which was stolen was US$600.
The State also alleges that in November 2023, Gutu went to number 13173 Eastview Phase 2, and broke into the complainant’s house.
It is alleged that he stole two blankets, a pair of school shoes, a Samsung 32-inch television, six pairs of sneakers, three pairs of ladies shoes, a pair of football boots and disappeared.
As a result, the value of property that was allegedly stolen was US$850.
