All-rounder Sikandar Raza was instrumental in Zimbabwe's thrilling one-wicket win over Pakistan which has thrown the Super 12 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 wide open.
Cricket World- Before the Pakistan vs Zimbabwe, Super 12 Group 2 clash began, the odds were heavily tilted in favour of the Men in Green. Pakistan were hurting after their close loss against India and wanted to get their campaign back on track.
However, they found determined opponents in Zimbabwe who have played some enterprising cricket over the last year, and were ready for the challenge at hand.
Star all-rounder Sikandar Raza had already won two Player of the Match awards in the tournament and by the time this match would get over, he would add another to his kitty -- one that he will remember for a long, long time.
After failing to do anything extraordinary with the bat, as Zimbabwe could only manage 130 while batting first, Raza made sure that the target looked much bigger when he had the ball in hand.
The all-rounder gave away just 25 runs from his four overs while picking up three crucial wickets of Shan Masood, Shadab Khan and Haider Ali to rip through the team's middle order and allow Brad Evans to work his magic in the last over.
Born in Pakistan's Sialkot, Punjab, Raza must have had extra motivation to show his chops against the country of his birth. In the process, he helped Zimbabwe produce one of their finest performances at the world stage.
