A Harare man, who allegedly hired a gang to assault the complainant after having a misunderstanding with his wife, has been taken to court.

Shepherd Chamunorwa, 31, and Shepherd Makono, 25, both of Waterfalls, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with attempted murder.

They were ordered to appear in court on April 19.

The State alleges that on March 28, at around 2200 hours in Stoneridge, Waterfalls, Chamunorwa had a misunderstanding with the complainant in this matter over the complainant’s wife.

It is alleged that he went away and came back with Makono, another man who is still at large and his wife.

They allegedly went to the complainant’s house where Makono wrestled the complainant and threw him on the ground.

Chamunorwa allegedly hit the complainant on the face with a stone and Chamunorwa’s wife also attacked the complainant with a brick on the back of the head.

The other accused, who is still at large, attacked the complainant with a brick and booted feet several times on the face and head.
