Two women in court over theft of liquor

Two women, who are accused of stealing liquor from Bon Marche Supermarket in Belgravia, have been nabbed.

Nyarai Dzonya, 38, and Tsitsi Kahiya, 30, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft.

They were remanded custody to today for bail application.

The complainant in this matter is Bon Marche Supermarket, Belgravia Branch, represented by its finance and administration manager, Godwin Munjom.

The State alleges that on March 26. Kahiya entered into Bon Marche Supermarket at Belgravia at around 1816 hours and went straight to the liquor shelves and stole two bottles of Amarula, which she hid in her bag and went out of the shop without paying.

One Munyaradzi Chihota, the CCTV operator came down the stairs from his office into the shop and went straight to the liquor shelf and rearranged the liquor back in order.

It is alleged that on March 31, at around 1430 hours, Kahiya came back to the shop and went to the liquor shelf and stole two bottles of Wild Africa 750mls and one bottle of 750ml Jose Silver Taquila.
