The epic nyau dance clash at Katanga Beerhall on Sunday failed to produce a winner after Zambezi Nyau Club of St Mary’s and Shamva-based group, Mingching, were adjudged to have drawn in their much-anticipated contest.
Zambezi Nyau Club fielded its revered dancers in Boss Kedha, Destroyer, Officer, Yeke Yeke, MaDeMbare and Sauro while their female singers plunged the venue – Katanga Beerhall – into wild celebrations, as they cheered the host dancers on.
“Sunday’s dance was the heaviest we have had since we started having competitions. It was an evening to remember for art and culture lovers as the dancers from both sides, gave it their all, scintillating audiences who can come to watch.
“We are hoping to fine-tune our styles so that we come out tops in the future. We should be on the road, visiting other groups soon and we will always advise our fans,” said Dinnas Kamushinda, who fronts the Zambezi Nyau Club.
