Zimbabwe’s top eye surgeon, Dr. Solomon Guramatunhu, 70, reportedly lost over US$100 000 in cryptocurrency after trusting someone to set up his accounts.
According to court documents, Dr. Guramatunhu hired Lloyd Chiyangwa, who was in the UK at the time, to create digital wallets and passwords for him to trade cryptocurrency.
Chiyangwa allegedly moved Dr. Guramatunhu’s money from his account to another exchange without permission. Dr. Guramatunhu noticed the missing funds and reported the incident to the police.
Chiyangwa is now in custody waiting for his court hearing.
