Zimbabwe’s national football team, the Warriors, will take the field at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in a striking new kit designed by a local talent, following a nationwide design competition.

The winning design, created by local designer Gallant, was unveiled by the Zimbabwe Football Association as part of its “Warrior Pride: Brand Design Battle” initiative.

The new strip features Zimbabwe’s traditional yellow for the home kit, a bold green for the away jersey, and a crisp white alternate – all proudly incorporating the colors of the national flag.

Gallant’s design was selected for its bold visual themes of bravery and patriotism, which were praised in the accompanying concept notes. The kit is intended to reflect the fighting spirit of the Warriors as they prepare to represent the nation on the continental stage.

ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi applauded the competition for involving fans in shaping the team’s image, calling it “a powerful way to connect national identity with sport.”

As the winner, Gallant receives US$3,000, a trip to attend Zimbabwe’s AFCON opener in Morocco this December, and the honor of watching their design come to life on one of African football’s biggest stages.

The Warriors will debut the new kit at the tournament this December, showcasing a fresh look that embodies the pride and spirit of Zimbabwe.
