Zimbabwean midfielder, Marshall Munetsi, found the net for Stade Reims but it wasn’t enough to secure victory, as they drew 1-1 with Stade Brestois in a French Ligue 1 encounter on Friday night.

Munetsi’s strike in the 25th minute gave the visitors a crucial away lead. The 27-year-old’s goal marked his fourth of the season, and his third in 2024.

However, the home side refused to be outdone. Lillian Brassier equalised for Brestois just before halftime, sending the teams into the break level.

Munetsi’s impressive performance was cut short in the 68th minute when his coach opted for a substitution, bringing on Amir Richallison.

Despite a flurry of changes in the second half by both teams, neither side could manage another goal, resulting in a share of the spoils.

The draw leaves Reims in 10th position on the Ligue 1 table with 41 points, while Brestois remain in contention for a Champions League spot, sitting comfortably in third place with 58 points.
