A 14-year-old minor has been taken court, accused of raping toddler.
The minor appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with rape.
He was released into the custody of his parents and will appear in court on June 3.
The complainant in this matter is a 1-year-11-month-old toddler.
The State alleges that on March 6, the complainant’s mother took her baby wanting to bath her.
The court was informed that she left the room as complainant was going in.
When she returned, she noticed that the accused had already removed the complainant’s clothes.
She told him how unhappy she was because of what the accused had done.
It is alleged that on March 7, at around 2200 hours, the complainant's mother was about to change the baby’s diaper and realised that her private part had stretched beyond normal.
The complainant’s mother asked her mother-in-law, who also checked her.
The matter was reported to the police.
