Zimbabwean rapper Mukudzei Chitsama, popularly known as Holy Ten, is now a free man after the State withdrew rape charges against him, citing lack of evidence.

The musician appeared before Harare magistrate Francis Mapfumo, where he had been facing allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.

According to the State’s initial allegations, the incident reportedly occurred on July 20 after the teenager and her friend visited Avondale Shopping Centre, where the rapper was recording music.

It was alleged that after the friend left, Holy Ten took the teenager to a bed-and-breakfast establishment in Hatfield, where he was staying.

The State further alleged that he took her into his room, locked the door and threatened to kill her if she refused to comply with his demands.

Following the alleged incident, the teenager was reportedly instructed to take an InDrive ride back to Avondale, where she later met her aunt and disclosed what had happened.

Her revelations subsequently led to the rapper’s arrest.

However, the State has since withdrawn the charges due to insufficient evidence, bringing the case to an end.

Holy Ten was represented by lawyer Admire Rubaya.
