A man walked into police station and told the cops that he was the one who stabbed a woman to death after she refusing to hand over her handbag.
Philip Kapuya, 33, of Malborough, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with murder.
The State alleges that at around 1300 hours, Kapuya, together with two accomplices still at large, approached the now deceased, Zvanyadza Marikano, at the intersection of Winston and Churchill roads in Marlborough.
Kapuya allegedly tried to snatch Marikano’s bag but she resisted.
The court was informed that Kapuya then stabbed Marikano on the chest and snatched the bag which had US$70, a Samsung phone and ran away.
On June 24, 2024, Kapuya handed himself to ZRP Marlborough confessing to having killed Marikano.
