Tickets for the much anticipated Zimbabwe versus Democratic Republic of Congo clash have sold out, leaving scores of supporters stranded as they scrambled to secure entry to the National Sports Stadium.
The sell out came amid a rush by fans to purchase tickets ahead of the match, with long queues forming at ticket selling points in Harare.
At the Betman shop and the ZIFA offices, supporters were lined up in large numbers, with congestion building as fans hoped to get their hands on the last available tickets.
Some supporters admitted that they had delayed purchasing their tickets despite earlier calls for fans to buy them in advance.

“I could have bought the tickets earlier to avoid this,” said one supporter who was still in line hoping to secure a ticket.
With the official tickets sold out, some desperate fans began looking for supporters willing to sell their tickets, even offering more than the original price.
“Do you have any idea of someone selling tickets? I will give him an extra 10,” one supporter asked.
Another fan said the importance of the match made the prospect of paying more worthwhile.
“Even if they say 20, I will definitely buy it. That game needs to be seen for yourself other than being told about it over the phone,” the supporter said.
The ticket sell out underlines the strong demand for the Zimbabwe-DRC encounter, with supporters eager to witness the match at the National Sports Stadium.
For those who waited until the last minute, however, the sold out status has left them searching for alternative ways to get into the stadium.
