Ahead of their crucial Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash against Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium this Sunday, Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu is refusing to be drawn into discussing his rival's internal problems.

Dynamos players recently staged a protest over unpaid bonuses, only returning to training this week. However, Kaindu insists his team is solely focused on their own performance.

"It's difficult to play a team with internal issues," Kaindu admitted. "We don't know what's happening behind closed doors, and it could mislead us. But this is a big game, and everyone will want to watch regardless of their training schedule. We're staying positive and focusing on ourselves."

The Highlanders camp is relatively healthy, with only goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi facing a late fitness test after returning from national team duty. Defender Andrew Tandi is confirmed out, while the return of left-back Archford Faira provides a boost.

Kaindu also addressed the recent acquisition of striker Never Rauzhi, on loan from Bulawayo Chiefs. While coy about Rauzhi's involvement on Sunday, Kaindu highlighted the need for attacking depth.

"We relied too heavily on one player [Brighton Ncube] in the first half," Kaindu explained. "Rauzhi is a good player, and we hope he adapts quickly. Having more options is crucial, but I won't reveal where he'll play on Sunday."

Kaindu acknowledged Highlanders' underwhelming first half of the season and expects a tougher second half.

"We haven't performed as well as anticipated," he said. "We've improved in some areas, but scoring has been a concern compared to last season. Conceding goals has also been an issue. The second half will be tougher because everyone is fighting for their goals."

Kaindu pointed to the tighter competition in the league table. "The points difference is minimal. Three wins in a row can significantly improve your position," he concluded.
