Police have arrested 90 illegal gold miners in a three day operation along Mutare River in Penhalonga.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the police also confiscated mining equipment including wheelbarrows, shovels, submersible pumps, water pumps hammer mills and solar panels.
In his statement Com Nyathi implied that some of suspects may have been operating as mining syndicates and could be foreign nationals.
