Security guards raid cluster house complex for solar batteries

Four security guards have been arraigned before the courts on allegations of stealing solar batteries.

Yamadzawo Jeri, 52, Tawanda Raisi, 37, Loice Sulumba, 45, and Idah Tembo, 39, appeared at the Harare Magistrate's Courts charged with theft.

They were ordered to deposit US$100 each and to continue residing at the same residence until the matter is finalised.

The State alleges that from July 21 and July 25, the four accused who are security guards at the complainant's cluster houses, used a remote-control key to open the garages of three houses (Unit 1,2 and 3).

They allegedly stole 12xUP5000/Pylontech Solar Batteries (4xUP5000/Pylontech battery from each unit).

As a result, the property that was allegedly stolen was worth US$26 400.
