India and Zimbabwe strengthen ties in diplomatic talks

India and Zimbabwe have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations following the third Foreign Office Consultations held in Harare yesterday.

 The talks, led by India’s Additional Secretary for East and Southern Africa, Puneet R. Kundal, and Zimbabwe’s Chief Director of Political Affairs, Mike Chigiji, covered a wide range of issues aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

 A key focus of the discussions was on expanding economic ties. Both countries explored opportunities for collaboration in trade, agriculture, digital technology, and health. India's expertise in these sectors is seen as a valuable asset to Zimbabwe’s development.

 Furthermore, the officials exchanged views on regional and global issues, underscoring the importance of multilateral cooperation. The two countries agreed to work together closely within the United Nations and other international forums.

 The meeting concluded with a positive outlook for the future of India-Zimbabwe relations, with both sides agreeing to hold the next FOC in New Delhi at a mutually convenient time.
