The much-anticipated Oliver Mtukudzi International Festival of the Arts (OMIFA) is set to take place on September 21 and 22 at Pakare Paye Arts Centre. This inaugural event aims to celebrate the life and legacy of the legendary musician, Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi, who tragically passed away in 2019.
Headlining the festival is the renowned Afro-fusion artist, Jah Prayzah, who will be joined by a diverse lineup of talented musicians, including Feli Nandi, Mokoomba, Gemma Griffiths, and Andy Muridzo. The festival will also feature performances from local artists, ensuring a rich and eclectic mix of music.
In addition to the live music performances, the festival will include a commemorative dinner, fashion shows, art exhibitions, dance performances, film screenings, spoken word, and a children's program. Workshops and masterclasses will also be offered for aspiring creatives.
