St. George's College cemented their dominance in the inaugural ABC Auctions Interschool Squash Tournament, held over the weekend in Bulawayo. The prestigious event featured intense competition among top schools in the region, showcasing the exceptional talent and sportsmanship of young squash players.
Defending their title from the 2023 Radar Holdings Top Schools Trophy, St. George's College emerged as the overall champions, securing victories in both the A and B sections. Their impressive 17-0 scoreline against St. John's College in the A section finals highlighted their dominance.
St. John's College claimed the runner-up position, while CBC secured the third spot, edging out Falcon by game count. Prince Edward, former champions, finished in fifth place, and Riverdale came in sixth.
Nishyto Munyoro, squash coach for St. George's College, expressed immense pride in his team's achievements. "Last year, I was thrilled to see the boys win both polls, and I'm incredibly proud to have repeated that success this year as their coach," Munyoro said. "Witnessing their hard work, dedication, and passion for squash is truly fulfilling. Their achievements not only bring glory to the college but also contribute significantly to the growth and development of squash in our country. I'm honored to play a part in shaping the next generation of squash champions."
