The annual Jacaranda Music Festival has become a vibrant cornerstone of Zimbabwe's cultural scene, showcasing the country’s rich musical heritage and artistic expression.
Founded in 2016, this dynamic festival brings together both local and international artists, delighting music enthusiasts from Zimbabwe and beyond.
Scheduled to take place from October 4 to 6, 2024, at the Thorn Park Polo Grounds in Harare, the festival promises a diverse line-up of performances. Attendees can expect an eclectic mix of genres, including afrobeat, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, and traditional Zimbabwean music. Past editions have featured renowned acts such as Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Nutty O, Freeman, Master H, Thomas Mapfumo, Hugh Masekela, and Miriam Makeba, ensuring a rich musical experience for all.
This year, Stanbic Bank returns as the naming partner, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the growth of Zimbabwe's music industry. Festival founder Walter Wanyanya, who also directs Ngoma Nehosho and founded the Jabulani Jazz Festival, emphasizes that the Jacaranda Music Festival is more than just a series of performances; it is a celebration of Zimbabwean culture and heritage. “The Jacaranda Music Festival is a testament to our nation's vibrant culture,” Wanyanya said.
