A man who nearly killed another after hitting him with a concrete brick over a shoe has been denied bail.
Tichareva Mhizha appeared before Magistrate Fadzai Mtombeni at the Harare Magistrates' Courts, charged with attempted murder. He will be in court on October 14, 2024, and has been advised to approach the High Court for a bail application.
The State, represented by Prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti, alleges that on September 27, at around 8:40 PM at Charge Office Rank in Harare, Mhizha approached the complainant, who was sleeping, asking for his missing shoe.
When told that he did not know where it was, Mhizha left but later returned holding a concrete brick. He then assaulted the complainant on the head, causing him to bleed profusely.
The complainant was assisted by other street boys to apprehend Mhizha, as they are all of no fixed abode. He was referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for a medical examination.
