22 year old arrested with shotgun, 30 bullets and drugs

Police have announced the arrest of a 22 year old in Harare and found the suspect with a shotgun, some bullets and drugs.

“Detectives from CID, Drugs and Narcotics, Harare acted on a tip-off and arrested Conna Edwards, 22, for unlawful possession of a Browning 12 Gauge Shotgun and 30 x 12 mm bore rounds of ammunition as well as 2 kgs of dagga with a street value of ZW$ 1 400 000,” said the police on their Twitter handle.

The country is facing rising waves of violent crimes as well as substance abuse especially among young people.

Cases of armed robberies targeting businesses and individuals have gone up over the past few years.

The police also announced that detectives from CID, Drugs and Narcotics, Harare arrested Memory Mushayi ,36, for unlawful possession of 1.21 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of ZWL$ 10,400.
